How Long Does a Property Video Shoot Take?

September 4, 2026 by

Shoot duration depends mostly on property size and how many formats you’re filming in one visit — here’s a realistic breakdown by format and property size.

By property size

As a rough guide: a studio or 1BHK walkthrough typically takes 45 minutes to an hour on-site; a 2–3BHK apartment or builder floor runs closer to one to two hours; a villa or larger plot can take two to three hours once exteriors and grounds are included; and a commercial site or builder project launch often needs half a day to a full day.

What extends the time within a category

Two properties of the same size don’t always take the same time to shoot. Multiple floors mean carrying gimbal and lighting equipment up and down rather than working on one level; a building with strict society or security check-in procedures can add 15–30 minutes before filming even starts; and properties with several similar-looking rooms (say, four identical bedrooms) often need more deliberate framing to keep the final edit from feeling repetitive.

A single walkthrough

A standard apartment or builder-floor walkthrough includes setup, gimbal-stabilised filming through each room, and a few static establishing shots.

Adding Reels or drone

Filming Reels or drone coverage in the same visit adds time — plan for half a day rather than a couple of hours if you’re combining formats. Drone setup alone (registration checks, pre-flight safety checks, and the flight itself) typically adds 30–45 minutes where the site is airspace-cleared.

Larger properties and projects

Villas, commercial spaces and builder project launches take longer, especially with sample flats or amenity areas to cover. See what to expect on a project launch shoot for the fuller picture.
