What to Expect on a Builder Project Launch Video Shoot
Project launch shoots are bigger productions than a single listing walkthrough — here’s how we typically plan one for a builder or developer client.
Pre-shoot planning
We start with the project’s actual selling points — amenities, location advantages, unit types — and plan the shot list around them, including whether drone coverage adds value for this specific site (subject to airspace clearance — see our post on drone permissions in Gurgaon).
Under construction vs. sample flat
Under-construction sites are usually shot to show progress, scale and the surrounding location rather than finished interiors, while a completed sample flat is where the interior walkthrough and lifestyle framing happen. Many launches use both — site and drone footage to sell the project, sample-flat footage to sell the unit. Where no sample flat exists yet, some developers opt for a 3D-rendered walkthrough shown alongside real site and drone footage, though that’s a separate service from what we shoot on location.
Staying consistent with your approvals
For under-construction projects marketed in India, promotional content is expected to stay consistent with RERA-registered project details — things like possession timelines and approved specifications. We’re not a legal or compliance service, but we do ask developers to confirm the claims and dates that go on screen, since a promotional video tends to circulate for longer than a single ad campaign.
On the day
Expect a longer shoot day than a standard listing — covering the site, sample flats or show units where available, and any amenity spaces. Aerial establishing shots are usually filmed early, since morning conditions tend to have calmer wind and clearer light than later in the day.
After the shoot
Editing for a launch film typically includes music, motion graphics for key stats (unit sizes, possession dates, configurations) and multiple cut lengths for different platforms — a longer film for the project website, shorter cuts for social media. It’s common for a single launch shoot to produce four or five different edits from the same footage — a two-minute hero film, a 30-second Reel, and a couple of platform-specific cuts — rather than one video reused everywhere.
